What are the characteristics of magnesium sulfate

Magnesium sulfate is a colorless, tasteless material structure, slightly bitter. It can be highly dissolved in inorganic solvents such as water. At room temperature, one liter of water can dissolve about 700 grams of magnesium sulfate. Magnesium sulfate in anhydrous form is hygroscopic and tends to absorb moisture from the air. Because of this characteristic, it is often used as a desiccant in organic synthesis. Magnesium sulfate has the function of converting sound force into heat energy. In seawater, magnesium is mainly responsible for absorbing sound, which mainly affects high-frequency sound.

Magnesium sulfate wet and hot compress has the effect of reducing inflammation and swelling, and is widely used in gynecological minor operations and post delivery treatment. However, clinical observation found that the heat of wet gauze would be quickly dissipated, especially in winter, which affected the efficacy.

Magnesium sulfate is widely used in industrial production, agricultural fertilizer addition, feed addition and so on. In addition, magnesium sulfate is also used in the pharmaceutical industry.
